The Akwai Hero’s League (AHL) is a pro sports league where serial entrepreneurs compete to build tech startups from scratch! There are 16 teams in 16 cities and they score points based on the amount of revenue they generate. The startups we create are called AVOs (Akwai Venture Organizations) which are mobile apps that donate a percentage of their revenue to a charity, nonprofit or altruistic endeavor. Most AVOs are inspired by positive psychology research. Positive psychology is a branch of psychology focused behaviors that enable individuals and communities to thrive.
Teams rapidly create new apps because points can only be scored on revenue earned in the AVOs first six months of existence. After that, the AVO is typically given away to other Heroes to manage. To attract new Heroes we hire Herocasters to create YouTube episodes about their adventures in the league. A Herocaster is an independent contractor who is paid to support league activities.
New Herocasters build their portfolio by producing 20 Episodes for our AVO Eon gameshow. Below is a list of your Season 1 episodes. In episodes 1 - 4 you will complete positive psychology worksheets to teach you concepts and help you brainstorm an app idea. In episodes 5 - 20 you will be guided on how to begin generating revenue and scoring points through your AVO.
